This is more than simply assisting on a wedding day. Over three dedicated days, you'll gain an inside look into my complete wedding photography approach—from preparation and planning through to photographing a real wedding and refining the workflow behind delivering a professional client experience.
Day One: Preparation & Planning
Before the wedding day, we'll spend 2-hours preparing together and walking through the steps that create a successful wedding experience.
You'll gain insight into:
- Pre-wedding planning and preparation
- Creating and reviewing wedding timelines
- Understanding locations and planning your approach for different environments
- Gear selection, equipment choices
- Preparing for challenges and making decisions before the wedding day begins
This day is about understanding the thought process behind a well-organised wedding and learning how preparation can create confidence and creativity on the day.
Day Two: Live Wedding Experience
You'll join me while I photograph a real wedding, giving you the opportunity to observe my complete approach from behind the scenes. This live wedding shadowing experience allows you to see how I work in a real, fast-paced environment and how I navigate every part of the wedding day.
Throughout the day, you'll gain insight into:
- How I interact with couples and build genuine connections
- Directing and posing naturally to create authentic images
- Managing timelines and adapting when things don’t go exactly to plan
- Working with different lighting situations and challenging conditions
- The behind-the-scenes decisions that shape a successful wedding day
You'll see how I approach each moment, make creative decisions under pressure, and create beautiful imagery while delivering a seamless experience for my couples.
Day Three: Workflow, Editing & Business
After experiencing the wedding day, we'll spend 3 hours unpacking my workflow and the systems behind running a successful wedding photography business.
We'll dive deeper into:
- My post-wedding workflow and file management
- Culling and editing processes
- Creating a consistent editing style
- Reviewing images and discussing the decisions made throughout the wedding day
You'll also have plenty of time to ask questions and receive personalised guidance based on your own photography journey.
